Fort Wayne Electric Works

Electric Works reimagined the former General Electric campus into a 39-acre mixed-use innovation district with 18 historic buildings and more than 1.2 million square feet of space for work, education, retail, residential, hospitality, and entertainment. EnvelopiQ supported the project with technology advisory, construction management, and integration across a large, historically significant site.

Adaptive reuse at this scale creates a different kind of technology challenge. The owner is not just filling buildings with systems. The owner is converting legacy industrial infrastructure into a modern district that must support new ways to work, learn, gather, live, and operate. EnvelopiQ helped bring structure to that complexity by coordinating technology across the district rather than letting each scope drift on its own.

Our work helped plan and deliver the technology infrastructure behind Wi-Fi, ISP coordination, AV, utility metering, IT infrastructure, security, LAN/WAN, and telephony. The value was clarity and continuity: helping turn a complex collection of historic buildings into a connected environment capable of supporting a new civic and economic engine for Fort Wayne.
